Thes rules pertain to the actual game. All members must read these rules to make sure they know how the game operates.
1) There isn't a required length for your posts as this RPG is for all levels, but please keep your posts gramatically correct. Don't type something like this: "sara watched as her horse was in the stall. he ate like nutz! she taught he was beautiful." This is NOT acceptable. Spell checkers are your friend! <3
2) You are only allowed ONE human character. If you want to change your charrie, you must delete the old one first and then create a new one. Humans don't age in this game, so pick an age you like.
3) You are required to have a picture of your human/horse character in your siggy! If you don't know how to do this, please ask an admin or mod to help you. This isn't a hard thing to do, and it makes it easier to roleplay if we know exactly what your charries look like.
4) Humans in this game are allowed to "interact" so to speak. I will allow dating and such to make it more interesting, but nothing sexual is allowed, understand?!
5) You horse or horses are YOUR responsibility. Don't take on more horses if you can't afford it!
6) Once you are accepted, you automatically get a bank account. You start out with $20,000. You need to get a job, work for another boarder, work for the stables or enter shows to earn more money.
7) Since it is ridiculous to ask you to feed and water your horse EVERY single day, we have a different way of going about this. You will be required to bring your horse or horses for feed ONCE a week. There are feeding pens that you can bring them too and there is also hay in there too. Your horse needs to eat his/her grain and hay once a week. Same thing with water. You also need to muck the stall out completely once a week. I know it seems unrealistic, but there's no other way to do it. You should also bring your horse for water after a show (after cooling off and not too much) or after a trail ride or other strenous activity. If you decide not to care for your horses, an admin will make a post saying your horse has died and you will be banned from the site for whatever time an admin sees fit.
8) Grooming, bathing and excercising your horse is part of keeping him healthy and happy. There isn't a requirement to how often you should do this, as that would be hard on the admins. They would have to check too many things too often. Anyway, if an admin notices you haven't groomed your horse, excercised him or bathed him in a very LONG time, you will be banned for a certain amount of time.
9) If you post in the absentee board, you will be excused from your horse chores. It would be like your charries on put on a "pause" of sorts and then when you return, everything is back to normal. You could also have someone else take care of your horses for you in exchange for a small fee or something as well.
10) Even though humans don't age, horses will. Time in this game is different then in real life. Just so that time won't pass too quickly, 2 weeks in RL equals 1 month gametime. So that means that 6 months RL equals 1 year in gametime. Since horses live so long in RL, they will have to be retired a bit earlier in this game.
11) Once any horse reaches the age of 18, he/she must be retired from showing. Although, she/he could still be ridden for pleasure on trails and such. All horse charries will die of old age at age 20.
12) A tad random here, but to make sure you read these rules, every member must do something when they post their applications for humans and horses. You must delete all the information in the parentheses. If you don't, I will automatically assume you didn't read the rules and you will not get accepted. End of story.
13) When playing a human character, you can be at any riding level you want. You don't have to be top of the notch material. If you really don't know how to ride, you can start as a Novice and take lessons on the school various school horses. Instructors will teach you how to actually ride, just in a virtual world! You can still take lessons at any other level of riding as well.
14) If you are playing a human and you bring in your own horse that you play or buy a horse, YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING! You don't have any tack, bandages, boots, fly spray, NOTHING! Everything must be purchased at the tack shop with your own money. In your bank account post will also be a section called "Inventory". ALL of your items will be listed here including your horses.
15) When riding in a lesson or when riding your own horse, YOU CAN FALL OFF! If you RP your own horse, then you must have accidents at some point, depending on how easy your horse is to ride and at what level you are at. We have a clinic at our stables where you can go if you are injured. The nurse there will tell you exactly what you need to do and what you cannot do for whatever period of time.
16) Your horse CAN get hurt whist you are riding. Horses can get injured easily, even is it is something small like a pulled muscle. Colic and strained tendons are some things that can happen in the blink of an eye without proper care. You must act fast and call the vet for proper treatment. The vet will also advise you how to care for your horse while she is sick. If you roleplay your own horse, you will have to pretend injuries every once in awhile. If you play "super horse" and never get hurt, an admin will powerplay at a certain point, giving your horse an injury automatically whether you like it or not.
Now you need all you need to know in order to being playing here at GMEC. Now all you have to do is go on to the other more specific rule boards before you can get started! ^^
