Before creating an equine character, you need to look over these rules. Certain characteristics pertain to the genders of horses and so this will effect your roleplaying.
General Horse Character Rules
1) Any horse that is created and accepted, yet isn't owned yet, must be put up for auction immediately or for private sale.
2) You can begin halter breaking any any age you like, as long as it isn't the within the first few days of birth. Saddle/bridle breaking cannot begin until 2 years of age.
3) Horses CANNOT talk! Not to each other or with humans. Not at all. They communicate through body language and sounds. That is it.
4) Both mares and stallions must be 6 years of age or older before breeding.
5) Be realistic with breeding. Try to keep it to purebred breeding, but if you must intermix, make sure the breeds are similar sized please.
6) Mares are only permitted to birth 10 foals in their lifetime. Stallions can sire an unlimited number of foals however.
7) Horses can be trained in english for example, and then retrained in western if the owner wishes. Please realize though that is is a difficult task and not really worth it. When buying a horse, make sure to look for what you want exactly instead of compromising and trying to turn the horse you buy into what you want.
8) Horses will die of old age at 20. Neglect and sickness can kill a horse earlier however.
9) If you are making a horse charrie, certain information must be put into your siggy. You can add more if you like, but this info MUST be viewable. Also, make sure to add "Owned By: Whoever" in the Personal Text section under your avatar.

10) Your horse's username should be the name/show name of your horse. Like this: Majesty .:. Untamed Prophecy. If your horse doesn't have a show name, then just keep it the call name. Like this: Majesty. Simple as that. ^^
11) Your horse CAN get injured. If you roleplay your own horse, you need to RP injuries every once in awhile especially if you are doing something dangerous. If you don't and your horse never gets hurt in even a very small way, an admin will powerplay and give your horse an injury whether you like it or not. Horses aren't invincible. If you RP a horse character and your owner pushes you too hard, this would be a perfect time for an injury. You can give off signs of being hurt and then your owner must take proper measures to get you well again. This also applies if you and your owner are doing some risky. Also, you must show signs of fatigue before being injured if your owner pushes you too hard. Show small signs before the injury so that the rider has ample time to realize that he/she should stop what they are doing and give you a break. If they ignore this, then the injury can be RPed.
Mares
Mares are usually calm and friendly horses for most of the year. However, when they are in heat they can become a bit ornery. This depends on the horse, so make sure to RP accordingly.
Geldings
Geldings are calm year round. They don't become overly highly-strung around mares at any point. Although, some geldings are naturally ornery so RP accordingly.
Stallions
Stallions can get very high-strung and ornery during breeding season, depending on the horse. Some don't get too excited, and some turn into a form of hell. Some stallions cannot be anywhere near a mare in order to stay reasonably calm so RP accordingly. Some stallions are calm until breeding season and others are overly spirited year round and get worse during breeding season. It all depends on the horse.
Foals
Foals don't become high strung during breeding season until they are about 4-5 years of age. Some age earlier, so it all depends on the horse. Some foals are moe spirited and harder to handle then others, so RP accordingly. Foals can be difficult to break and train but they cannot be impossible! Foals cannot be gelded until they are 3 years of age.
Well that's all you need to know about horse characters. On to the next set of rules!
